Jane Howes grew up on a cattle farm in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, and started riding horses and playing polocrosse from a young age. She has represented both the South African Junior teams and Zimbabwe in polocrosse.

Jane qualified from Onderstepoort, University of Pretoria’s faculty of Veterinary science in 2011 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science ( BVSc) and started working at Borrowdale Park Veterinary Hospital for Karl Van Laeren in February 2012.

She relocated to Toowoomba in February 2020 to take up a full time position at Equine Veterinary Services. Her work experience has been solely dedicated to equines, and includes equine dentistry, reproduction, lameness, ultrasound and radiography.

In her spare time she enjoys riding horses, playing polocrosse, running and spending time with her friends and family.
